Reuben Wood Hair & Beauty has once again been recognised for the outstanding work of our team, and one member in particular, with resident stylist, Steve Barnes, winning the Avant-garde Creation Award at the Great Lengths Awards 2016 event, hosted at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on Sunday, September 18th.
Our team was joined by and were competing against 300 other hair stylists and salons from across the country, so it goes without saying that competition was fierce in every category. Launched in 2010, the event celebrates the technical prowess and creative skill of the stylists and salons that use Great Lengths’ products, including their ethically sourced, natural human hair extensions.
The selection of the award winners was overseen by a distinguished panel of judges: Matthew Curtis, Great Lengths extensionist and lead stylist for Britain’s Next Top Model; Gemma Ward, editor of The Salon Magazine; and Gabriella Pisani, founder of the Pretty Ugly blog and former beauty writer for HELLO! Fashion monthly.
Steve Barnes is the Assistant Manager at the Salon, and his career in hairdressing started at 17, in his home town of Cheltenham Spa. It is a base from which Steve has since gone on to use his skills all over the world, including a prestigious salon in Sydney, as well as various editorial photo shoots and at fashion shows.
